Rasa-Lila Fest Schedule of Events

Rasa-Lila Fest kicks off with a Friday night party and then a full line-up of classes and workshops beginnning at 9am Saturday and continuing until 5:30p. We close our day with a meditation circle and prayer for peace and love.

Revolution: LOVElution the Friday Night Party

We always like to kick off our festival with a unique sensory experience that will stimulate your energy and take you past your boundaries. The night ends in the feeling of pure bliss with a vibrational meditation led by the Beautiful Chorus.

Jennifer Lowery DeBuhr and DJ Menscha will lead a two hour experience of yoga, live music and ecstatic dance in a night we are dubbing the "Revolution:LOVElution". Join us and see what it is all about!

The YOGA Stages

The Yoga Stages features all different types of Yoga Classes that help your body and mind recharge.

9:00-10:00am     Morning Yin Acoustic Flow: Start your day with a slow flow with live music to get your muscles warm and loose for the day ahead. Led by Abby Sabo with vocals by Amanda Riker and acoustic guitar with Matty
10:30-11:30am    Sid Yoga Power Flow: A challenging and healing yoga practice that is suitable for all-levels of yogis, from the beginner to the advanced student. Your experience will be guided from Power Vinyasa Yoga tradition which is a flowing form of yoga that heals, detoxifies, and electrifies the body and mind at their deepest levels. Led by Sid McNairy
12:00-1:00pm     Rooted Down to Rise Up- A Hot Fusion Flow™: In this class we will learn how to focus on a strong steady foundation in order to provide us with the building blocks to longevity and success for our life long yoga journey. If we want to practice yoga well into our 60s 70s and 80s we must start from the ground up. There are no short cuts. No ways to move around the pose. We must move THROUGH them. Led by Kelly Green
3:00-4:00pm     Rasa Hip a Lila : Hip Openers for Hippie Chicks & Hipsters: Learn poses to strengthen, stabilize and stretch your hips. Squat deeper, split wider, lunge further, balance better and find your serenity in reclining poses.

4:30-5:30pm     Yin on the Rocks: The perfect late afternoon class at Rasa Lila Fest!! A creative and intelligently sequenced Yin Yoga class set to some sweet and chill rock n roll tunes. Led by Tymi Howard

9:00-10:00pm     Sukha Flow: In Sanskrit, Sukha means sweet, and this will be a sweet, yet strong, slow Vinyasa flow yoga class, a challenging class still appropriate for all levels, emphasizing alignment, deep lenghthening and release work mixed in, to open to the hips and lower back, as well as cultivating an intimate connection to the breath throughout. Led by Collette Marie
10:30-11:30pm     Funky Flow: Are you ready to turn your world upside down? Your entire practice is built on leading you into being able to invert. Let your fears go as you learn techniques to take flight in variations of handstands, arm balances, headstand and more! Led by Missy White
12:00-1:00pm     Rocket Yoga: The Rocket Series are derivatives of the Ashtanga Series, which were developed by Pattabhi Jois in the early-to-mid 20th century. Pattabhi Jois taught Larry Schultz, who was the personal traveling instructor for Bob Weir of The Grateful Dead. While teaching Weir, Schultz developed The Rocket as a way of encouraging modification, empowering the student to shape the practice to his or her needs and abilities. Led by Jessica and Jay Needham
3:00-4:00pm     Acro Yoga: An introduction to the foundations of AcroYoga: Yoga, Acrobatics and Thai Massage; we will explore how these lineages are linked in a fun and mind challenging classes. Come and play to find your lightness and openness. Led by Andre Surovikin
4:30-5:30pm     So You Think You Have Core Stability: Come explore real core stabilization through proper diaphragmatic breathing.Learn the real way to activate your core, how we all learned to move and why this matters, and how these principles can help your body become pain free, injury proof, and help you excel in any sport or yoga practice. Led by Dina Georgoulis and Dr. Moses Bernard

The UNPLUG Stage

The UNPLUG Stage features Indoor Workshops, Meditation, Chanting and Healing Sound Experiences.

10:30-11:30    Pranayama - a Bridge Between the External & Internal for a Complete Practice: Pranayama as the bridge between the external and internal for a more complete Yoga practice. B.K.S. Iyengar’s legacy that he sort to bring the experience of all the 8 limbs of yoga within asana, Pranayama was also integral to his practice and should be to ours. Learn to practice with purpose. Led by Tricia Amheiser.
12:00-1:00pm    Pranayama Meditation: This breath work will allow you to connect to your Spirit that we humans can separate ourselves from. It is a dynamic exploration of self discovery. Led by Beth Hardin
1:30-2:30pm     Thai Bodywork: Learn the wonderfully relaxing, releasing and nurturing techniques of Thai Yoga Bodywork. We will do a basic sequence of stress-releasing stretches, twists and massages that will feel amazing. Led by Darcie Shedd
3:00-4:00pm     Guided Chakra Balancing Meditation: Enjoy a journey through the body, mind, emotions and spirit where we release blockages and open to our highest potential. Wonderful for any level of meditation practice, where one may re-nourish, find peace, clarity, forgiveness, healing and inspiration. Led by Sahara Rodriguez
4:30-5:30pm     Crystal Bowl Meditation: A reclined meditation experience feeling the powerful vibrations of the crystal bowls. This transcendental experience promotes the body's own healing ability allowing for it's natural rhythms of peace and allowance to surface. Most of our lives are so fast paced and we rarely have time to create a safe space to unwind or just relax. Led by Buffy LaRoux



The Learning Stage features a variety of wellness lectures and informational talks throughout the day.

9:00-10:00am     Mindfulness Meditation for Busy Lifestyles: A meditation experience with time to discuss how a Mindfulness Meditation practice will lead us to the goal of finding presence or “Choice-less-Awareness” in our practice. Led by Marc McDowell
10:30-11:30     Chanting The Yoga Sutras and Yoga Philosophy Discussion Awaken Your Voice. Awaken Your Heart: Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras are the guidebook for practicing yoga and living a yogic life. Together we will learn to chant the first book of the yoga sutras as well as discuss the sutras and how to implement them in our lives. Chanting is one of the most traditional Yoga practices and can be practiced by students of all ages. No experience is required. Led by Jessica Lynne Trese
12:00-1:00pm     Yoga and the Physiology of Mysticism - Reversing the Searchlight of the Senses: Patanjali's Sutras form the basis for the talk, with references to the Vedas, Gita, Torah and Gospels. The eight limbs will be presented as aspects of the path to Kaivalya, and a description of how each prepares us for meditation and beyond. Led by Michael Rosen-Pyros
1:30-2:30     Refine and Align Your Asana: In this anatomy workshop, we will learn to put the ego aside so we can rock out the basics and dive into fully being present in the postures to facilitate growth and protect against injury. Led by Heather Avery
3:00-4:00     Using Herbs in Everyday Life: Herbal Folklore is growing into mainstream. This old school rooted tradition is truly an organic way to live closer to the earth. Touch, feel, smell herbs and learn a variety of ways to use in your everyday life. Emily Wenzel with share tips on cooking, growing, harvesting, preserving, infusions, herbal preparations, and using them medicinally for sore throats, bites, sun or wind kissed skin and more. Led by Emily Wenzel
4:30-5:30pm     Stay true: yoga for eating disorders:  Kristy Robinson will share her personal story and the steps she took to overcome bulimia, body dysmorphia, and why she believes yoga and meditation can be a game changer for women and especially the youth. You don't have to have had an eating disorder to understand the external and internal pressures that so many of us face regarding our image. Everyone can benefit from learning how to cultivate more self-love. Led by Kristy Robinson

10:00-11:00am     Chakras and the Science of Flow, Using this ancient wisdom for thriving in modern times: Come learn about how this system is not just a mystical system reserved for the ancients and the healers but very much effects our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health and levels of vitality. Empower yourself to gain more control in keeping your system healthy, your cells singing with life force & innate joy. Led by Dr. Alison J. Kay


The Sweet Sweat Stage gives us a chance to explore fitness class that get the body moving and bring on some healthy sweating.

9:00-10:00am     Pi-Yo: PiYo is a mix of cardio, yoga & pilates; the combination of the three allow you to stretch it out while breaking a sweat with little to no hard impact on your body & joints. Led by Caitlyn Connolly
10:30-11:30pm     Belly Dance: Come learn the beautiful art of belly dance! This class will introduce you to the basic isolations you need as a solid foundation for belly dance. Learn new and exciting things about your muscle groups, how to access your inner core to create beautiful and fluid movements. Led by Kimberly Freed of Hip Expressions Belly Dance Studio 
12:00-1:00pm     POUND: POUND is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, plyometrics and Isometric poses into a 45-minute series that burns between 400 and 900+ calories per hour. Led by Tiffany Meeks of Soul Rooster.
3:00-4:00pm     Barre Fitness: Barre movements bring stability to the body and help us develop long term strength. Led by Barre Central instructors
4:30-5:40pm     Hooping Fitness: Take a super fun hooping class that will get your heart rate up and tone your core muscles. Led by Abby Albaum


Live Music Stage

10:30a-11:30a     Yogi Shake Up

Live music/DJ plays to a fun flow to designed to leave the participates feeling open and buzzing with good vibes! Any level of yoga welcome.

11:45-12:45     Sound & Dance for Daily Practice- music and sound with Medicine Bird!

Dance movements at beginner and intermediate level by"Jiiniikwe" or Medicine Bird. She is Native American from South Dakota that plays acoustic guitar with tribal beats and improvisation. She has danced and presented at Shamanic Boom and Tribal Vision in NM 2015

1:00p-2:00p     Rhythmic & Resonance Meditation by Beautiful Chorus

Waves of harmony, poly-rhythmic songs, hymns and more in meditation!
The ladies of Beautiful Chorus will be singing in waves of harmony on both Friday late evening and Saturday during the noontime break.

Enjoy their rhythmic songs, vocal meditations and hymns! They will also be offering private sound sessions where participants are invited to sit in the center of the ladies for an acoustic, live sound bath!

Closing Cermony: 

5:30pm The Closing Ceremony Saturday evening is a unity of singing, pranayama, meditation and chanting.

Guided by Erin Geraghty and Amanda Riker, this experience will be sure to fill your heart with light and love to conclude this extraordinary weekend.

SUPYoga: Yoga on the paddle board will focus on core strengthening poses rather than standing balancing poses. Beginning paddle boarders and experienced paddle boarders are welcome.

Yoga on the water is a serene, tranquil experience. Join us for a floating savasana, amber colored sky and new approach to transcend your yoga practice.

SUP Fit: SUP Fit combines the fun of paddle boarding with high intensity exercises to create a new full body workout for all ages, body types and fitness levels. SUP Fit is an awesome option for those who wish to overcome the boredom of a regular workout! Taking your workout to the water will allow physical and mental growth in a unique environment.

Expect a variety of kinetic exercises such as push-ups, planks and mountain climbers while strengthening core muscles stabilizing on the board with plenty of paddling.
